From Darjeeling to Yunnan: The Origins Behind Our Six Blends
Great tea starts with great leaves. We traveled to 12 origins across 4 continents to source the ingredients behind every Dice Tea blend.
Tea is an agricultural product. Like wine, like coffee, like chocolate — the flavor in your cup is inseparable from the soil, altitude, climate, and hands that produced it. We take that seriously at Dice Tea.
For our Electric Citrus Green blend, we source our base green tea from the high-altitude gardens of Darjeeling, India — the same region famous for producing some of the world's most prized first-flush teas. The cool mountain air and mineral-rich soil produce a leaf with natural brightness that pairs perfectly with our yuzu and lemon verbena additions.
Our Smoky Oolong Storm starts in Wuyi Mountain, Fujian Province, China — the birthplace of rock oolong. The unique terroir of this UNESCO World Heritage site produces leaves with a naturally complex, mineral character. We then apply a traditional charcoal roasting process that adds the signature smokiness that defines this blend.
Wild Berry Blitz is built around hibiscus flowers sourced from the Nile Delta in Egypt, where the climate produces the most intensely colored and flavored hibiscus in the world. We blend this with berry extracts and a base of South African rooibos for a caffeine-free option that's anything but boring.
Golden Ginger Fire uses a bold Assam black tea from the Brahmaputra Valley as its backbone — a tea known for its malty, full-bodied character that can stand up to the intense ginger and turmeric we add. The result is warming, spiced, and deeply satisfying.
Mint Avalanche is built on a delicate white tea from Fujian's Fuding region, where the tea bushes grow in coastal fog that imparts a natural sweetness. We pair this with peppermint grown in the Pacific Northwest for a blend that's simultaneously delicate and intensely refreshing.
Finally, Peach Dice Dream uses a Taiwanese high-mountain oolong as its base — partially oxidized to bring out natural stone fruit notes — then enhanced with sun-dried peach from Georgia (the US state, not the country, though both produce exceptional peaches). The result is our most approachable blend: smooth, sweet, and endlessly drinkable.
